Ride Descriptions

Monday Sunset Ride — Beginner Friendly

Ease into the week with one of the Cape’s most scenic and welcoming group rides. Our Monday Sunset Social Ride is a relaxed, no-drop ride designed for newer cyclists building confidence and experienced riders looking for an easy recovery spin after the weekend.

We roll out from Craigville Beach at a conversational pace and cruise through the classic Cape villages of Centerville and Osterville, lined with classic Cape Cod homes and quiet coastal roads. The route includes a stop at Dowses Beach for sunset views before heading back toward Craigville — with plenty of time to catch the last light when you get home.

Whether you’re learning group riding skills, spinning the legs out after a hard weekend, or simply enjoying a beautiful Cape Cod evening with good company, this ride is for you.

Thursday Signature Group Ride — Intermediate to Expert

Our Thursday evening ride is the club’s signature event — a fast, scenic tour through the Cape’s most beautiful coastal villages at sunset. Rolling out from Kalmus Beach, the route winds through Hyannisport, Centerville, and Osterville, combining smooth roads, ocean views, and classic Cape Cod scenery with spirited group riding.

We aim to have at least two groups each week. This ride offers something for motivated riders looking to build fitness, improve paceline skills, or push the pace with stronger cyclists. The B Group is no-drop and regroups at key points along the route to keep riders together and the experience social and supportive. The A Group is the exception and rides at a sustained, high-performance pace.

This is a beautiful sunset ride and one of the highlights of the week, but newer riders should be realistic about pace expectations. If your group’s speed feels too aggressive, let the ride leader know and they’ll help you transition safely to the next pace group.

Sunday Coastal Ride to Woods Hole — Beginner to Intermediate

Our Sunday Coastal Ride is a beautiful 34-mile loop from Mashpee Middle-High School to Woods Hole and back, featuring quiet Cape roads, ocean views, and a stunning stretch along the Shining Sea Bikeway. It’s a relaxed but rewarding ride that combines scenic cruising with supportive group riding and is a favorite for riders looking to build endurance without sacrificing the social side of cycling.

The route typically offers two no-drop pace groups to accommodate a range of riders. The C Group maintains a conversational 12–15 mph pace and is ideal for newer riders building confidence and learning basic group riding skills. The B Group targets a steadier 16–18 mph pace for intermediate cyclists looking to improve endurance, pacing, and group riding experience.

Both groups regroup at key points to keep riders together and make the ride welcoming and approachable. If the pace feels too quick at any point, let your ride leader know and they’ll help you transition safely to the next group.

With ocean breezes, bike path views, and the charm of Woods Hole as the turnaround point, this ride is one of the best ways to spend a Sunday morning on Cape Cod.
